Senior Pastor
After many years as an international missionary, James, better known as "Jamie" recently joined Olivet as the new senior pastor in 2016. He and his wife Lizzy join the Olivet Ohana with a heart for service, fellowship, and evangelism.
Associate Pastor - Japanese Dept
Watanabe-sensei has been the associate pastor of the Japanese Department at Olivet since 2002. He was born in Japan, graduated from McKinley HIgh School, then went on to Golden Gate Theological Seminary, where he received his Master's of Divinity. Makito's work in ministry has taken him from the plains of Texas, all overJapan, and now back to the Hawaiian Islands. An avid musician, Makito released a Japanese Contemporary Christian CD titled "Love Song" in 2000.
Minister of Youth & Discipleship
Jeff joined Olivet Baptist Church as its Minister of Youth and Discipleship. He fully engages the children of the church from grades 6 thru 12. Jeff joins Olivet after his time working with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership as he fosters the love of Christ in the hearts of the young children, with a special attention to the safety and security of our children. He has also served with other youth church groups in Colorado before returning to the island.
Minister of Young Adults & Worship
Justin joined Olivet with nearly 15 years of ministry as a worship leader, teacher, and pastor on Oahu. He's has been leading worship at Victory Aiea prior to his arrival to Olivet and brings a bevy of skills and and Christian leadership to train up worship leaders and to work with young adults and family. With a family of his own, Justin balances the work of pastor, loving husband, caring father, and leading worship.
